This brooder is from a 1942 design that's still being used. It has 2 light fixtures that can hold 250/150/60 watt bulbs of white or red. They are tied into a thermostat. The ceiling is lined with foiled insulation.
David cut pieces of 2" PVC pipe at 6", 8" and 10" to raise the brooder up as the chicks grow. Unfortunately when we built the containment pen, we forgot to allow for the elevating.
