Cows: Devon Yearlings 2012

After David got hurt working our cows, we gave them all (except our steer for the year) back to the cowman. We would graze 6 – 7 Devon yearling heifers for him, keeping them away from the bulls, from grass up in mid May until grass ran out in November or December. We’d do daily moves but if they needed hands on work, he would have to come do it. Every other year he’d leave a steer for our freezer.
