As you can see, we used this as an entryway and an unloading area. But for the chickens to have access to outside, this was the only area available.
Also we were concerned about the rhododendrons and planned to fence them off along with the area under the eaves. The area they would go in and out by, we put plastic snow stops on the roof to stop the snow from flying off.
