The door (recycled feedbox lid) was set at an angle to maximize space and fit around the feedbox. It has a spring closer and an antique porcelain handle. It's locked with a snap in a hasp. It's 2' wide and swings into the roosts.
The wall by the feedbox was covered by wood so the chickens would not be frightened by animals climbing up there. There is also 1/2" hardware cloth 4' high on this part of the wall.
