Soaking a chicken foot: inserting the foot January 2009
One of the Barred came up with a very swollen ankle. I tried soaking it in Epsom salt hot water. But I had to figure out a way to get, and keep, the foot in water, without wearing it all.
David had this stretchy material he used to put finish on rods. I punched a hole the diameter of a pencil in a piece of it and taped it over the top of a wide mouth Mason jar. Then I put a ring over it, to hold it. (I filled the jar first.)
The next thing was to get those long claws all through that tiny hole. Amazingly, she let me do this without batting an eye.
