We'd just moved the cows from across the street a couple days before. A good thing, because we'd not have had any way of keeping the electric fence going at the distant pastures.
Due to the depth of the snow we had to feed hay for several days til the snow melted and they could get at the stockpiled pasture again. We did worry that it might not melt, but it was totally gone in a couple weeks.
