You can see above the tarp where the coop is vented on the roof. But when they all crowd in there for shade, it's still hot. So we took the tarp used on the Salatin pen, 2 pigtail step-in posts and baling twine and made a simple shelter offering more shade. It's easy to take down and put up for each move of the coop.
